The Swarovski 2078/I Hot Fix Rimmed Flatback is unique in its design and in its optics. It is comprised of a 2078 Swarovski Hot Fix Rhinestone, with a metallic coating around the bottom edge of the rhinestone giving the appearance of a metal rim around the stone. The dichotomy of the crystal with the metal coating brings together two Swarovski crystal strengths - the brilliance of the crystal with the boldness of the metallic coating. With the addition of the coating around the edge, the rhinestone really pops - yelling, "look at me" and offers show-stopping appeal. Please note: the metallic coating around the rim of the crystal is a crystal coating and not an actual metal rim.

The 2078/I Hot Fix Swarovski Rimmed Flatback is used primarily for fabric application because of the precoated heat activated glue on the back of the stone. This type of Swarovski Flatback rhinestone is particularly popular in industries such as fashion apparel, dance, broadway show costumes among others industries using fabric. These stones can also be used to create a rhinestone transfer to create a larger predesigned motif. Application for these stones can most easily be done using an iron or a hot fix machine.
