Every year we look forward to all the awards shows. Sure the movies, TV shows and music are great, but we all know that the red carpet is where the action is at! Shout out to E! Red Carpet Live! – The 2015 Golden Globe Awards that aired last night did not disappoint! From plunging necklines to bejeweled gowns, each outfit was more gorgeous than the next. Well, except for those um, fashion mistakes. But, we will save those for another blog ;-)
Faithful readers know that we love our sparkle and bling and last night featured plenty of both! So, what were our favorites? Here are our top 5 sparkling looks of the night:
#5 Look of the Night: Tina Fey in Antonio Berardi
As a presenter, Tina Fey had a number of wardrobe changes. Our favorite, however, is the crystal encrusted Antonio Berardi tea length black and white gown pictured below. The scattering of crystals, was the perfect touch to add dimension and glamour to this dress.
#4 Look of the Night: Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad
She might be married to John Legend, but her best accessory of the night was her Zuhair Murad lace inspired beaded gown. Each bead was perfectly placed to make this gorgeous embroidered design. Simply stunning, this dress is a piece of art!
#3 Look of the Night: Ellie Kemper in Naeem Kahn.
Ellie Kemper’s gown was simply gorgeous! The embroidery and handwork that went into the beaded and bejeweled gown blew us away. We applaud her for looking sexy and sophisticated – without the plunging necklines and high slits that dominated the red carpet.
#2 Look of the Night: Kate Hudson in Versace.
“Oh, Kate, this dress fit you like a glove!” The plunging neckline was right in line with one of the hottest trends of the night. But we love not only the shape of the dress, but the very flattering cutouts on the side featuring rhinestone connectors.
#1 Look of the Night: Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
We need something stronger than “OMG” to express how we feel about the dress, as well as how stunning Jennifer Lopez looks in it! Let’s be honest, Jennifer Lopez would look great in a pair of sweats and an old t-shirt. This unbelievable, exquisitely beaded dress, complete with a plunging neckline and high slit, fit her perfectly. And the cape! The perfect accent to a gorgeous dress left us speechless. Well done, Jenny from the Block!
Beading, embroidery and crystals were definitely a hot trend at the 2015 Golden Globes. We just hope they didn’t get lost amongst the other big trend – plunging necklines!
